NETFLIX IS A JOKE FEST 2024

As Netflix expanded its live event offerings with the Netflix Is A Joke comedy festival, the goal was to create a visual identity that captured the irreverent, deadpan spirit of the brand—while feeling unmistakably rooted in Los Angeles. The design system draws from LA’s guerrilla sticker culture, featuring stark, monochromatic layouts anchored by dry, self-aware copy—lines like “You can’t spell ‘laugh’ without ‘LA’ and ‘ugh’” set the tone. These compositions were then layered with bold, colorful sticker graphics that injected situational humor, logistical details, and additional bursts of personality. This intentionally self-vandalized approach allowed the system to scale playfully across billboards, building facades, garbage trucks, merch, and more—creating a layered, dynamic brand presence throughout the city.
